WEIGHT LOSS AND BODY COMPOSITION
A lower number is not the whole goal.
Body weight includes more than fat. Muscle, body water, bone, and other tissues all contribute to what the scale shows.
Weight loss
A decrease in total body weight does not, by itself, tell you what changed.
Body composition
Looking at fat and lean tissue helps put your weight into context. Our coaching emphasizes strength and a sustainable routine alongside your fat-loss goals.
Instead of judging every workout by the next weigh-in, we look at your training, consistency, and measurement trends together.
A PLAN YOU CAN KEEP DOING
Three parts of a practical approach.
01 · TRAIN
Make strength a priority.
Resistance training helps support muscle maintenance, including during weight loss. Your coach selects exercises and resistance for your current ability, then progresses the plan thoughtfully.
02 · BUILD HABITS
Look beyond the workout.
Exercise is only part of weight management. We discuss general eating habits, everyday activity, and a routine you can maintain. Your plan should fit your week, not depend on a perfect one.
03 · REVIEW
Adjust with context.
We can review your attendance, exercise performance, and body-composition trends to guide the next step. A single weigh-in or scan is not the entire picture.
Our coaching provides fitness guidance and general nutrition education. Medical nutrition treatment or condition-specific dietary advice belongs with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian.
30-MINUTE ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING
Every session has a purpose.
Your trainer plans the exercises, coaches your technique, and helps you work at an appropriate level. Sessions may use machines, cables, dumbbells, or bodyweight movements based on your goals and experience.
- Train major muscle groups with a structured program.
- Adjust weights, repetitions, and rest to your ability.
- Build consistency through scheduled appointments.
- Progress the challenge as your strength develops.
These sessions are one part of your overall plan. We also discuss activity outside the studio rather than promising that a few workouts alone will deliver a particular weight-loss result.

INBODY BODY-COMPOSITION TRACKING
Understand your numbers. Look for a trend.
InBody testing provides estimates of body composition, including body-fat percentage and skeletal muscle mass. We use that information to help establish a baseline and review changes alongside your training.
- Body composition: Put scale weight into context.
- Strength: Review exercise performance and progression.
- Consistency: Look at the routine you are actually maintaining.
- Your experience: Discuss how training fits your life.
Readings can vary with hydration, recent meals, exercise, and testing conditions. Comparable conditions and trends over time are more useful than treating one scan as an exact verdict. The Free Body Diagnostic is a fitness assessment, not a medical diagnosis.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU START
Weight Loss & Body Composition FAQs
What is the difference between weight loss and body-composition change?
Weight loss is a reduction in total body weight. Body composition looks at what contributes to that weight, including fat and lean tissue. We consider your measurements alongside strength and consistency rather than judging progress by scale weight alone.
Can personal training help me work toward fat loss?
Personal training provides structure, strength coaching, and accountability. It can support your goals, but workouts are only part of the picture. Eating habits, overall activity, health factors, and consistency also affect outcomes. No specific loss or timeline is guaranteed.
Why include strength training when my main goal is weight loss?
Strength training is useful for building strength and helping maintain muscle, including during weight loss. Your program should support what you can do as well as the changes you would like to see on the scale.
Are 30-minute workouts enough?
A 30-minute appointment gives us focused time for coached strength work. The appropriate weekly plan also considers activity outside your appointments, nutrition habits, and recovery. We do not present session length alone as a guarantee of fat loss.
How often should I train?
We recommend a starting frequency after discussing your goals, current activity, recovery, and availability. Two or three coached sessions per week may fit some clients; others need a different plan. The aim is a schedule you can maintain.
How do you use InBody testing?
InBody helps estimate body-fat percentage, muscle mass, and related body-composition information. We review those readings alongside your training and habits. Similar testing conditions and changes over time are important because hydration and other factors can affect results.
Why might my weight or scan results change between visits?
Changes in body water and testing conditions can influence measurements. One reading does not automatically prove that you gained fat or lost muscle. We look for a pattern and discuss context before recommending an adjustment.
Do I need to follow a strict diet?
We emphasize practical, repeatable habits rather than a one-size-fits-all restrictive plan. Your trainer can discuss general nutrition principles. A registered dietitian or your healthcare professional is the right resource for medical dietary needs or individualized nutrition treatment.
How quickly will I see results?
There is no single timeline. Your starting point, training, nutrition, recovery, and consistency all matter. We establish goals with you and review progress without promising a particular number of pounds, body-fat change, or deadline.
Can I start as a beginner or after age 40?
Yes. Your trainer adapts the program to your experience and current ability. Tell us about any health concerns or limitations before starting; medical guidance may be needed for an unresolved injury or condition.
How much does the program cost, and how do I start?
Pricing depends on the package and training frequency you choose. Start with a Free Body Diagnostic to discuss the options, or call 201-947-2003. We explain pricing and relevant terms before you enroll.
